Please note that I ran 37 miles last week and 47 miles this week. I do not recommend that much of an increase especially for newer runners or first time marathoners. It is the perfect recipe for an injury. I am just really lucky that my body enjoys for it to be beaten up.
Also note that the change in mileage and intensity of workouts left me pretty exhausted towards the end of the week.
Sunday: 8 miles-outside with Mason, Beal, Ryan and Kristy.
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: Speedwork=2-1 miles @ 6:50 and 6:46, 4-800s @ 3:09, 3:07, 3:05 and 3:03. Plus warm up and cool down=7 miles
Wednesday: 7 Miles
Thursday: 7 Miles
Friday: 4 Miles (supposed to do 6 but too tired so I cute it short) 15 mins elliptical=Cross training ![]()
Saturday: 14 miles at 8:34 pace
Total Mileage: 47 Miles
How is your training shaping up?

I love the 15 minutes on the ellipitcal is classified as “cross-training”. Sadly, that’s more cross-training than I even do. LOL
What is even more sad is that I only did those 15 mins becuase I wanted to stick to my 1 cross training thing a day. If we were playing football I would have used that as my cross training.
So, increasing from 37 to 47 is not #logo approved.
Thank you for the disclaimer. I was going to go out and run 47 next week… but you have prevented me from doing so.
Just kidding!!
Did you run 14 miles on the treadmill?? Damn, girl – impressive!
Training is going great! Oh wait, I’m only on day 3 of training…………..but so far so good.
I’m about a week and a half away from “must start training NOW” mode. Trying to do a little pre-training to get my body and mind back in the game, but right now my mind is not cooperating!
