So with last weeks buttroversy (piriformis) I decided to take it easy. I skipped speedwork and I skipped hills last week. I also tried to take more rest days….ok so I took 1 extra rest day, probably should have taken 1 more. My goal was to run every other day but then I ran 3 days in a row, oops.
Sunday: 20 miles (Towpath Half Marathon)
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: 5 Miles
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: 5 miles
Friday: 5 miles
Saturday: 16
Total Mileage: 51 miles
And just when I thought I was taking it easy last week, I add up my miles and I am right back at 50. Really this only happened because I did a long run on Sunday and then the next one on Saturday. This week I am doing my long run on Friday (since I am going on a little trip:) ) so that will be interesting.
One thing I have noticed is I keep getting cramps while running now, usually around 4 miles. Anyone else experiencing this? What helps? Usually if I walk for a minute it goes away.
39 Days and Counting til the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon!!!!

Cramps around 4 miles, two questions:
Are you hydrated?
Are you grabbing a quick bite before heading out e.g. a banana?
Hmm, I have no idea about the cramps and am curious to hear what everyone says!
I have had a few stacked weeks like that – with two long runs. One of my goals is to have a 60 mile week this year. That is probably the only way to make it work!
is the butt feeling better? i hope so, you still had a very solid week!
i never get cramps during training runs or rarely, but sometimes do the first couple miles of a race…and i usually think it’s just nerves or my breathing is off. no idea.
Sometimes I raise my hands over my head. By lifting you arms its supposed to open up your chest and lift your diaphragm or something? I forget who told me that, but it helps me sometimes.
